Alicia Keys isn’t just a girl on fire, she’s a renaissance woman. The singer/mother/philanthropist is now adding Global Creative Director for BlackBerry to her résumé.
In her new position with the company, Alicia will work closely with “app developers, content creators, retailers, carriers and the entertainment community” to help figure out how everyone can better use the new BlackBerry 10 smartphone, which will be available in the U.S. this spring.
In an exclamation point-filled tweet, Alicia shared her excitement about her new job.

But as the New York Times asked, when was it that Ms. Keys decided to get rid of her iPhone?
The singer, who has sung the praises of her Apple phone, said during BlackBerry’s press conference yesterday that she was happy to be back in an “exclusive relationship” with the brand. But as the paper points out, she was tweeting from her iPhone as recently as three days ago and has been using Instagram, an app that is not available for BlackBerry.
In hopes to clear up any controversy though, Alicia’s rep, Rhett Usry, sent an email to the paper explaining: “The Internet is buzzing with speculation as to the exact time Alicia Keys ‘broke up’ with her previous smart phone. After a transitional period, she’s officially an exclusive BlackBerry 10 user today.”
Alicia even showed off the new model in a tweet yesterday (January 30) evening to prove she’s Team BlackBerry all the way.

The “Girl On Fire” singer isn’t the only one taking a job in the corporate world. Lady Gaga was named Creative Director in 2010 for Polaroid and Beyonce recently signed a deal for $50M to be Pepsi’s brand ambassador.
Does Alicia’s endorsement of the new BlackBerry 10 make you want to give up your iPhone?
